contemplating graduate school
i just applied to a Masters of Public Admin program. it’s a perfect fit for me - created for working professionals already moving in a related career. and, if i have to have a career, nonprofit management suits me very well - meaningful, challenging, interpersonal, influential.
why do i hesitate? for a dilettante such as myself, a commitment of this gravity is a bit paralyzing. it would be wasteful if i didn’t use this expensive (in both $$ and time) degree. there’s only so much time in the day. and for 2 years i wouldn’t have time for much besides work and school.
what about learning french? what about my garden? what about refreshing my piano skils (and maybe even learning the accordian)? what about fresh, homecooked meals? and, gulp, what about motherhood?
i’m doing this to excel at work. but if it comes at the expense of really loving my husband well or being a true friend, the cost is too much.
these are the thoughts that i’m thinking.

Every day when I get home from work I just have to stop and check in on the succulents. They are so lovely to look at. Arranged quite nicely for an amateur, don’t you think?

Vintage Me Oh My
I’m very excited to have stumbled upon this blog today, and have stayed late in my office just to peruse. Which says a lot on a day like today.
The vintage typography and design are so charming! Even the junk mail is fascinating. Good thing it doesn’t look like that anymore or my little apartment would be filled with the clutter.
